Biography

Mr. Willem Jansonius serves as Partner, Head of CIF & Head of Core + and Economic Infrastructure at DIF. He joined DIF in 2016 and is responsible for the co-ordination of the core infrastructure activities within DIF and is involved in the origination, analysis, investments and management of core infrastructure investments. Prior to DIF he was Managing Director and Head of Benelux and Nordics at Macquarie Capital, where he was responsible for the infrastructure advisory and principal activities for 7 years. He has led a wide range of international infrastructure transactions in the Energy & Utilities, Telecom and Transportation sectors. He was involved in recent transactions like the acquisition of VOPAK UK by Macquarie Capital (storage), the Koole terminals to JP Morgan Asset Management (storage), the acquisition by Infracapital of Alticom (telecom), the sale of CMI to NEP (datacenters and media infrastructure), the share swap between MIRA and OTPP involving Copenhagen, Sydney and Brussels airports, APG's acquisition of a large stake in the Dutch office fund (real estate) as well as Globalvia's capital raising with a consortium of PGGM, OP Trust and USS. In his earlier career, Willem spent nine years originating and executing transactions at ABN AMRO Corporate Finance in Amsterdam and London where he was involved in M&A transactions with Gasunie, Fluxys, TenneT, Elia, Engie, ENI, Eskom, RAG and EdF. He was also the head of the private equity fund at Cyrte Investments, the TMT investment boutique owned by one of Dutch largest family offices and insurance company Delta Lloyd, where he led the Delta Lloyd investment into Belwind. At Cyrte he was involved in several operational restructurings in the investment portfolio. Willem has a Master's degree in Chemistry from Utrecht University and a Master's degree in Finance from Nyenrode University in The Netherlands.
