Biography

Mr. Ken Wrench is a Co-Founder & served as Chief Executive Officer & Director at London & Colonial Holdings. He is a Chartered Insurance Practitioner and a Pensioner Trustee in his own right since 1979, Ken has over 40 years experience within the Pensions Industry. Following on from 6 years with CM&G, the next 11 years were spent with National Mutual where he ran their Pensions Technical Department. During this time he pioneered the New Code documentation for the 70's legislation, in addition to lecturing on a variety of subjects at what is now the London Metropolitan University, on behalf of the Pensions Management Institute. In 1979 he joined Merchant Investors initially as Pensions Manager, where the following year saw him appointed a Senior Executive. As part of the expansion of their Pensions Division he was responsible for guiding developments into a number of new areas; with products which included SSASs, Personal Funds, Bonds, and Loans, as well as Personal Pensions and AVCs. Focusing particular attention on marketing and sales support, Ken was responsible for the introduction of a new training and licensing system for Direct Sales, for the promotion of corporate pensions business. In 1988 he became one of the founding Directors of London & Colonial Trustees Limited (formally Select Pensions Limited) of which he continues to be Managing Director to this day. The company provided technical pensions consultancy to other professionals within the pensions industry and specialized in services for Small Self-Administered Schemes (SSASs). In 1995 in partnership with Robin Ellison he formed London & Colonial Services Limited (formally The Fiduciary Corporation Limited) of which he is also Managing Director. This company provides services for Self-Invested Personal Pension Schemes (SIPPs). More recently he has been involved in the development and launch of the innovative Open Annuity product underwritten by London & Colonial Assurance PLC. London & Colonial Services Limited and London & Colonial Assurance PLC are sister companies, being wholly owned subsidiaries of London & Colonial Holdings Limited of which Ken is Chief Executive.
