Biography

Mr. Hugh Humfrey serves as Managing Partner at Timberland Investment Resources. He oversees investment strategy, and its implementation and also assists with acquisition sourcing, due diligence, forest manager selection, forest operations, and budgeting. In addition, he assists with client reporting and capital raising. Prior to joining our management company, Mr. Humfrey established a global forestry fund for an Investment manager specializing in alternative assets where he was responsible for strategy, property sourcing and analysis, and capital raising. He previously worked for Forestry Investment Management where he was involved with project management, analysis, and the marketing of forestry and renewable energy projects. Mr. Humfrey spent five years working as an independent business consultant providing specialized financial, investment, and management counsel to financial services firms after serving as managing director at Hoenig & Co., a mid-sized U.S. broker-dealer. In that capacity, he had responsibility for the firm's London operations. Earlier in his career, Mr. Humfrey was a managing director with Fidelity Investments, responsible for the Global Brokerage Services and its Investment Advisor Group. He also was sales and marketing director at Pershing Ltd., and managing director of Discount Brokers International. He was commissioned in The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards from 1974 to 1985.
