Biography

Mr. Paul Raether serves as Senior Advisory Partner & Member of Regional Committees, North America and Europe, Private Equity Valuation Committee and the Global Valuation Committee at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts. He serves as Senior Advisory Partner & Member of Regional Committees, North America and Europe, Private Equity Valuation Committee, and the Global Valuation Committee at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts. He serves as the Chairman of BrightView Landscapes. He joined KKR in 1980 and oversees KKR's three regional Portfolio Management Committees. He is an Angel Investor. Mr. Raether also serves as a member of the North American Private Equity Investment Committee. He has played a significant role in numerous portfolio companies including Beatrice Companies, Cole National Corporation, Duracell, Fleet/Bank of New England, IDEX Corporation, KSL Recreation, Masonite International, PT Components, Randall's Food Markets, RJR Nabisco, Seaman Furniture, Shoppers Drug Mart, Stop & Shop Companies, Storer Communications, Inc., Walter Industries and Wometco Enterprises. He served as Board Member at Apple Leisure Group. Prior to joining KKR, he served as an officer in the United States Navy and started his professional career in the Corporate Finance Department of Reynolds Securities. Previously, he was a Vice President in the Corporate Finance Department of Blyth Eastman Dillon & Company. He obtained a B.A. from Trinity College and an M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College. He serves as a director or trustee for several educational and non-profit institutions, including the Board of Trinity College in Hartford, CT, where he serves as Chairman. He also serves as a Trustee of the Board of Overseers of the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Foundation. Mr. Raether is the President of the Institute for Sports Medicine Research in New York.
