Biography

Mr. John Brakey served as Advisor at Principle Advisory Services. He has over 20 years' experience in financial services markets and investment management, focussing on alternative asset classes, and private equity in particular. He was most recently head of private equity at MLC with responsibility for managing a $5 billion global private equity program, following his role at KKR where he was responsible for investor relations and fundraising in the Australian and New Zealand markets. Prior to this John was head of private equity fund of funds at Macquarie Funds Group, where he was responsible for building and managing on behalf of clients a $5.5 billion portfolio of global private equity funds, secondaries and co-investments. John has also worked as an asset consultant at Towers Perrin, advising on alternative asset classes. John holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics (First Class Honours) from the University of Sydney.
