Biography

Mr. D. Fort Flowers is a Co-Founder and serves as Executive Chairman & Chairman of the Investment Committee at Sentinel Trust Company. As evidence of Sentinel's client-service orientation, he is actively involved in the delivery of investment and non-investment services to each of the Firm's family relationships. He also remains very active in the business and with client relationships, where his skills and knowledge are additive. For the 10 years before Sentinel, he managed the financial affairs of the Flowers family including their extensive holdings in traditional and non-traditional assets. He has served on the boards of multiple private and public businesses in industries ranging from engineering and manufacturing to banking and mining. He is active in the community and served as a trustee of St. John's School, the Texas Presbyterian Foundation, and the Presbyterian Church (USA) Foundation, Inc. He has been the chair of several boards of directors, including the board of Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston, the Texas Regional Board for the MIT Corporation Development Committee, and the Investment Committee of the Georgia Tech Foundation. He has served as CEO of several wholly-owned family companies and as a director of several public and private businesses. He is a CFA charter holder and is a graduate of Georgia Tech and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
