Biography
Mr. Satoshi Onishi serves as Director at Soitec. He serves as managing director & CEO of Shin-Etsu Handotai Europe Ltd., located in the United Kingdom. Onishi graduated in Economics from Kagawa University in Japan in 1985 and holds a masters degree in Industrial Systems Engineering from the University of Florida. He joined Shin-Etsu Chemical Co. Ltd in 1985, working initially in the I.T. systems division of Shin-Etsu Handotai Co. Ltd. During this time he designed and developed many of the company's core systems, from corporate wide level to manufacturing processes as a project leader. In 1998 he was transferred to Skyward Information System Co. Ltd., a group company of Shin-Etsu Chemical Co. Ltd., as Development Division Manager. In January 2000 he was assigned as a senior manager of P.C./I.T. division of Shin-Etsu Handotai Europe Ltd., and in 2005 he became a director of Shin-Etsu Handotai Europe Ltd., with responsibility for Sales, Accounting, and Corporate Business Administration. In June 2012 he became managing director & CEO.
