Biography

Mr. Gavin Turner is a Co-Founder and serves as Managing Partner at Mainsail Partners. In addition to leading new investments and co-managing the firm, he is an active board member for the company's portfolio companies and advisor to their CEOs. He serves as Board Member at Flight Schedule Pro, Rentvine, Centerbase and Brilliant Earth. He leverages his background as an entrepreneur and former senior executive to help the company's management teams build great companies. Before founding the company, Mr. Turner was a Vice President responsible for West Coast media and communications investments at Summit Partners, a leading global private equity and venture firm. During his seven years at Summit Partners, he completed 14 investments totaling over $200 million in capital. He previously held a senior management position at Sirenza Microdevices, Inc. (an investment he sourced and completed while at Summit that was ultimately acquired by RF Micro Devices for $900 million). He received an A.B. in Economics, with Honors, from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. In 2010, Mr. Turner teamed with Mr. Jason Payne and Mr. John Griscavage (CEO of Professional Healthcare) to start the Madrone Foundation, a private foundation with the goal of assisting the financially challenged to pay for healthcare and education expenses. He also serves on the board of nCourt. He is also a Board Member of Nexus Systems.
