Biography

Ms. Carissa Barry served as Managing Director of Infinity Real Estate & President of Daro Apartments at Infinity (Group). Carissa brings over 17 years of management, marketing, and acquisition experience to the team. She is responsible for the day-to-day leadership over Daro and the strategic growth of Infinity's multifamily portfolio. Carissa is a principled, charismatic, and hands-on leader overseeing virtually every function of Daro Apartments, including community renovations, accounting, human resources, and sales and marketing. Carissa joined as Daro's president shortly after Infinity's acquisition of the company and its portfolio of properties in early 2014. Her responsibilities are diverse and she has experience with fee managed, publically and privately held real estate investments. Carissa has an in-depth knowledge of the Washington DC metro area, and an expertise in rent control and TOPA related issues. She has successfully worked with a number of non-profit organizations, attorneys, and dozens of Tenant Associations to successfully negotiate development and voluntary agreements adding value to historic and in many cases deprived properties for all stakeholders. Carissa previously worked for the Van Metre Companies as a Vice President of Investment Property Acquisitions, and Vice President of Marketing, and also worked for Charles E. Smith, REIT. Carissa is a licensed Real Estate Broker, and Property Manager in The District of Columbia, and a licensed Real Estate Sales Person in Virginia. She is an active member of AOBA (Apartment Office Building Association), GCAAR (Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors), NAA (National Apartment Association) and PMA (Property Management Association) where she was previously the Chairperson for the Marketing Counsel. Carissa holds a Bachelor of Science from Grantham University.
