Biography

Mr. Adam Clemens serves as Managing Director, Portfolio Advisors at FS Investments. Mr. Adam Clemens serves as Managing Director, Management Committee Member, and Co-Head of the Co-Investment Team at Portfolio Advisors. He is a member of the firm's Management Committee and joined Portfolio Advisors in 2010. As Co-Head of the Co-Investment Team, he is primarily engaged in sourcing, evaluating, and recommending investment opportunities in private equity co-investments. Previously, he was Co-founder and President of New York Life Capital Partners ("NYLCAP"), the captive manager of alternative assets for New York Life Insurance Company and third-party investors. Prior to co-founding NYLCAP, he was the Head of Private Equity and Leveraged Finance within New York Life's Private Finance Group. Prior to that, he was a Vice President with Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company in the Private Placements department. He has served as a director of one client portfolio company and has served or is serving as an advisory board member of forty-five private equity partnerships. He holds a B.S. from Georgetown University, an M.B.A. from Columbia University, and a Chartered Financial Analyst.
