Biography

Mr. Derek Watson is the Founder and serves as a Partner at Watson Family Investments. Previously he served as a Managing Director at Windjammer Capital Investors. He joined Windjammer in 2000 from Bank of America's Leveraged Finance Group in Los Angeles, California, where he was most recently a vice president responsible for originating, analyzing, structuring, and financing transactions for middle-market leveraged buyouts, acquisitions, and recapitalizations. He has over 18 years of experience in leveraged finance and has been involved in over 30 leveraged transactions. At Windjammer, he was responsible for sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, structuring, and consummating new investments and had a primary role in monitoring portfolio company performance and managing portfolio company divestitures. he served on the board of BBB Industries and the boards of Automatic Bar Controls, Medtech Holdings, MacLean Power Systems, and Athena Diagnostics (observation rights). Mr. Watson received his BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an MBA, summa cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles.
