Biography

Mr. John Spitznagel served as Chief Executive Officer and Board Member at NovaSom. He serves as Operating Team Member at 1315 Capital. He has a long track record of success in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining NovaSom, Mr. Spitznagel served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Oceana Therapeutics, Inc., a medical device company focused on pediatric urology and colon and rectal surgery. Prior to Oceana, Mr. Spitznagel served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Esprit Pharma, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the genito-urinary market. Prior to that, Mr. Spitznagel was Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of ESP Pharma, a company he co-founded to pursue the acquisition, development and marketing of acute-care pharmaceuticals. Previous leadership positions included serving as President & Chief Executive Officer of Roberts Pharmaceutical and its successful merger into Shire plc, and President of the Reed and Carnrick Division of Block Drug. He began his career at Warner-Lambert in sales and marketing and spent nearly ten years at Hoffmann-La Roche and ten years at American Home Products where he was Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Wyeth.
