Biography

Mr. Habib Hazzan serves as Managing Partner at Ibtikar Fund. He has over 20 years of experience as an attorney, business consultant, and venture capitalist in the Middle East and worldwide. He was the Co-Founder & Managing General Partner of Al-Bawader, of Pitango Group, a USD 50 million venture capital fund investing in some of the leading technology, internet, and mobile startups operating in the Middle East and worldwide. PBeforethat Habib assumed project leadership roles at McKinsey & Co.; the leading business strategy consulting firm worldwide. He focused on growth strategy projects for Israeli and international telecom and financial service clients. He serves as Chairman at Play 3arabi. Previously, for over 13 years, He held consulting, strategic management, and legal positions in Israel, the Palestinian territories, and worldwide with IBM, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Adam Smith International, and Elias D. Khoury Law offices. Habib has worked in the Middle East, Europe, the Americas, and Africa and is well-regarded and connected in all these geographies. He holds LL.B. and LL.M. degrees from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and an MBA from Emory University in the US where he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship.
