Biography

Mr. Hari Balasubramanian is the Founder & serves as Managing Partner at Ecoinvestors Capital. Mr. Balasubramanian is a proven sustainability expert who is driven by the belief that capital can be deployed to achieve impact along with other objectives. His goal: a healthy planet on land and in the ocean, a stable climate, abundant and diverse wildlife, prosperous communities, and flowing, clean fresh water; not as a cost to society, but as an opportunity and previously under-recognized business value. Working with governments, corporations, foundations, and individuals on values alignment and sustainable decision-making, the firm has influenced over $4B in sustainability-oriented financing - helping protect threatened species, forests, oceans, and the people who depend upon them throughout the world. He is also the founder of EcoInvestors Capital, which supports capital deployment across asset classes and the capital spectrum. Prior to these, he worked for 8 years at Conservation International, one of the world's largest NGOs, conducting impact due diligence, measurement, and tracking of grant and debt funds. He serves as a Director for several environmental charities, a mentor to start-ups, and an advisor to investors, corporates, and governments on the value of nature. He was recognized as the 2020 top impact consultant/enabler in Canada through Clean Leaders. He holds a BSc in Biology from McGill University and an MSc in Geography (Distinction) from Oxford University.
