Biography

Mr. Peter Ford is the Founding Partner af SkyRock Advisors. He has spent over 25 years in the port industry all over the globe helping to improve local economies through increasing business results and investing in infrastructure. Peter relishes matching internal performance drivers with customer service level requirements, thus increasing results along with customer satisfaction. Recently Peter left his executive role as Chief Strategy Officer for Ports America to start SkyRock Advisors, a port and maritime infrastructure focused advisory. Prior to this, he held the role of Global Chief Operating Officer for the Gulftainer Group of companies from 2013 until 2015 where he was the lead negotiator for the concession in Port Canaveral, Florida that allowed Gulftainer's entrance into the US. Gulftainer, while regionally strong in the Middle East, is one of the largest privately owned, independent port management and logistics companies in the world. Before that, he spent the bulk of his career with the AP Moller-Maersk group. Peter held a number of executive and managerial roles within APM Terminals, including the positions of CEO Salalah Port between 2010 and 2013, Chief Operating Officer of European Region, head of New Product Development project for the group, and a number of other roles across Jamaica, USA, and the Netherlands. Peter has also recently served on the Maritime Transportation System National Advisory Committee (MTSNAC) providing his perspectives and advice to the U.S. Secretary of Transportation on matters relating to the U.S. marine transportation system and seamless integration with other segments of the transportation system. He currently serves as a member of two interesting advisory boards, the Cornell Program in Infrastructure Policy and the NY Maritime Innovation Committee at SUNY, where he provides guidance on port related activities to help interpret how policy makers and innovators can navigate through these sectors.
