Biography

Dr. Emil Chuang serves as Chief Medical Officer at Intrinsic Medicine. Dr. Chuang is a pediatric gastroenterologist and completed his GI and Nutrition training at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He then joined the faculty at Duke University and U. Pennsylvania before transitioning to the pharmaceuticals Industry. He was the head of GI Clinical Development at Prometheus, Nestle Health Science, and Progenity, as well as the head of GI Translational Research and Early Clinical at Takeda. He has authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications, abstracts, and book chapters. Dr. Chuang received his medical degree at the University of Sydney and completed his pediatric specialty training in Australia before moving to the United States. He currently resides in Utah where he is an active member of the community and volunteered weekly to administer COVID vaccinations during the pandemic. He serves as a mentor at the University of Utah Center of Medical Innovation's Bench to Beside Program. He also volunteers and supports several local nonprofit organizations.
