Biography

Mr. Joseph Ravitch is a Co-Founder and serves as a Partner at The Raine Group. He is the Co-Founder and serves as Partner at Raine Ventures. He serves as a Board Member at Imagine Entertainment, Propagate Content and Candle Media. He served as a Board Member at Reigning Champs and OpenSky. He is active across all of Raine's businesses and works closely with large global and regional entertainment conglomerates as well as earlier-stage, high-growth media companies. He also drives Raine's relationships with the sports world as an advisor and investor. Based in New York, he also divides his time between Los Angeles and Asia. Before Raine, he was a Senior Partner at Goldman Sachs where he spent approximately 16 years based in London, Hong Kong, and New York working on transactions in the media and telecommunications industry including a number of the firm's principal investments including the YES Network, Demand Media, China Netcom and Focus Media. While at Goldman, he was responsible for creating and building several important businesses including the Asian TMT business, the sports practice, and the entertainment finance group as well as working closely with significant media companies around the world. Before Goldman Sachs, he worked as an attorney for Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen, and Hamilton in New York, London, and Moscow where he helped found the firm's Russian practice. He also clerked for Judge Pierre N. Leval in the Southern District of New York. He served as a Board Member at Vice Media. He graduated from Amherst College, magna cum laude, and has a J.D. from Yale Law School.
