Biography

Mr. Jayapalasingam Kandiah served as Chairman of the Risk Committee at Turiya. Mr. Kandiah, a Malaysian, aged 75, was appointed to the Board of Turiya as an Independent Non-Executive Director on 24 November 2011. On 20 February 2013, he was re-designated as the Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Turiya. On 19 May 2014, he was designated as an Independent Non-Executive Director. He is the Chairman of the Audit Committee, Risk Management Committee, Nomination Committee and Investment Committee. He is also a member of the Remuneration Committee of the Company. Mr. Jayapalasingam holds a Bachelor of Law Degree from University of London and possesses the Certificate of Legal Practice. He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Malaysian Institute of Accountants.He has been in practice as a Chartered Accountant since 1975 and is currently a partner at Nexia SSY Chartered Accountants, member firm of Nexia International. He is currently the partner overseeing the transaction services including insolvencies, mergers and restructuring. He does not have any family relationship with any other director and/or any major shareholder of the Company nor does he have any conflict of interest with the Company.
