Biography

Ms. Marie Weijler serves as a Partner at TIIN Capital. She served as the head of Impact Investing at Nexus for Development. She is a multilingual professional with over 9 years of experience in venture capital, startup business development, fundraising, and deep tech. At just 31, she became the youngest female VC partner in the Benelux region during her tenure at TIN Capital. Before that, she served as Investment Manager at Cottonwood Technology Fund, a U.S.-based venture capital firm focused on deep tech and climate technology. She has Forbes 30 under 30 and Venture Capital Journal's 40 Rising Stars under 40 awards. Her academic credentials include an MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology (USA), a Master of Laws in Corporate Law from Leiden University (Netherlands), and an MA in European Studies (Social & Economic Policy) from KU Leuven (Belgium). In 2015, she started at Princip.al, a Belgian fintech startup that offers a deal-sourcing platform to private investors. Here she expanded the customer base and was involved in fundraising activities. In 2019, she joined Cottonwood's investment team. Here she was active in supporting investments in B2B deep tech startups, attracting follow-up financing for portfolio companies, and fundraising for the third fund. Within the team, she will focus on fundraising, investor relations, and support for portfolio companies. She will be involved as an investor relations partner in the new fund to be launched in mid-2023.
