Biography

Mr. Timothy Throsby serves as President, Managing Partner, Chief Risk Officer, and Chief Compliance Officer at Phoenix Merchant Partners. He serves as a Board Member at Light & Wonder. Before Phoenix, he served as the President, of Barclays Bank and Chief Executive Officer, of Barclays International at Barclays Bank PLC from 2017 to 2019, where he was responsible for overseeing the bank's Investment Bank and Markets businesses, the Corporate Bank, the Private Bank, USA, and German Credit Cards, and the UK Merchant Acquiring Businesses. He led a successful restructuring of the more than $1 trillion balance sheet and $20 billion revenue complex that was Barclays Bank Plc. From 2010 to 2017, he served in various leadership roles at JP Morgan, including from 2012 to 2017 as Global Head of Equities, where he was responsible for the Cash, Equity Derivatives, and Prime Brokerage businesses worldwide. Before JP Morgan, he was President and CEO of Citadel Investment Group across Asia and Japan and also held senior positions at Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, and Macquarie Group. He serves as Chairman of Silver Creek. He serves as an Independent Director at Light and Wonder, Inc. He also serves as a Board Member at Zen Educate. He also served as Deputy Chair of the Human Dignity Trust for over twelve years and as a Governor of Ark Oval Primary Academy. He holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Sydney, studied Law at Oxford University, and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
