Biography

Mr. Phillip Cave is a Founder and serves as Executive Chairman at Anchorage Capital Partners. He is a Founder of Bisalloy Steel Group. He serves as a Board Member at David Jones. He served as Chairman at Scott's Refrigerated Logistics. Mr. Cave serves as Board Member at GBST Holdings. Previously, he served as Chairman at GBST Holdings. He is one of the founding members of Anchorage and with Mr. Daniel Wong has invested in operational turnarounds for over 20 years, since before the establishment of Anchorage. He is currently Chairman of Bisalloy and Dick Smith and is on the Board of Acrow. Previously, he was on the Boards of First Engineering, Total Eden and Burger King New Zealand. Mr. Cave also sits on Anchorage's Investment Committee. He has a track record of over 20 years of successful turnaround investments in the Australasian region, commencing in the 1980s with investments in Sunbeam, Victa and Wormald Ltd through his listed vehicle Reil Corporation and more recently PayConnect Solutions (now ADP), Atlas Group, Smart Salary and Omni Plastics Group through his boutique investment house, Minstar Capital (formerly Interbank Capital Partners). Before embarking on his turnaround investment path, he was an Executive Director at Macquarie Bank. He was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2007 for services to the community, particularly support services to children and young adults with disabilities, and business as a company director. He is Chairman of the not-for-profit organization Ability First Australia and the Wesley Institute. Mr. Cave holds a Bachelor of Business (Commerce) from The New South Wales Institute of Technology and is a Fellow of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants (FCPA). He also served as the Chairman at Solgen Energy Group.
