Biography

Ms. Janet Yap Seong Yong serves as Independent Non-Executive Director at Sun Life Malaysia Assurance. Ms. Seong Yong, a Malaysian, female, aged 58, was appointed as a Member of the Board on 1 September 2022. Ms. Janet Yap holds a Bachelor of Arts with Double Majors in Computing & Information Science and Economics from the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada and an Ontario High School Diploma from St. John's College. Ms. Janet Yap was the Technology Managing Director and Corporate Social Responsibility Lead of Accenture Malaysia and has more than 32 years of experience in technology and management information consultancy covering various industries and geographies, namely Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore, where she carved her niche in systems implementation and SAP consulting. From the time of her retirement from Accenture until June 2021, she was the Chief Executive Officer of Cancer Research Malaysia and served on the Board of Governors of the American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce. She is presently a member of the Board of OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad as well as the Trustee of World Vision Malaysia and a Director of PW PAC Sdn. Bhd.
