Biography

Mr. Peter Machunde serves as Senior Advisor at Mkoba Private Equity. Mr. Machunde is a Tanzanian professional Accountant and seasoned financial and investment analyst. He has over 25 years of post-qualification experience, of which he spent 11 years with Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers). Mr. Machunde was part of the founding team at the first Venture Capital Fund in Tanzania under the management of Equity Investment Management (later Aureus Capital Partners). Currently, Mr. Machunde is the CEO of Vertex, a financial advisory firm operating in Tanzanian and the broader EAC region, specializing in providing corporate advisory and capital-raising services to both users and suppliers of capital. He is a trained and CMSA Licensed Stock Broker. Mr. Machunde has served on several Corporate and Professional Boards including Chairman of the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange, Chairman of the Project Board of Business Environment Strengthening for Tanzania, Precision Air, Tanzania Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Tanzania Tea Packers Ltd and National Board of Accountants & Auditors. He is currently a Board Member of Ecobank Tanzania, and also serves as Chairman of the Board's Risk & Credit Committee; Member of Governing Council of Arusha Institute of Accountancy and Uhuru Media Board.
