Biography

Mr. Gene Becker serves as an Operating Partner at Altamont Capital Partners where he focuses on investments in the insurance and consumer finance sectors, as well as on providing guidance to portfolio companies in the areas of corporate strategy, M&A, and sales and marketing. Prior to the formation of ACP, he worked closely with the principals of ACP for ten years evaluating and investing in financial services businesses. Previously, he had a 25 year career in various roles at American Bankers Insurance Group (now Assurant), including as Chief Executive Officer of the operating insurance subsidiaries and Chief Marketing Officer of the holding company. Under his leadership, American Bankers grew to be a leading provider of specialty P&C insurance products distributed primarily through financial institutions. He is a current or former board member of McLarens Young International, Access Insurance, Pacific Specialty Insurance Company, and State National Companies. He earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami and a Bachelor of Arts from Biscayne College (St. Thomas University).
