Biography

Mr. Glenn Entis is a Co-Founder and serves as Senior Advisor at Vanedge Capital. He serves as an Executive Advisors at Akili Interactive Labs. He was the Chief Executive Officer of DreamWorks Interactive, a 90-employee game studio joint venture between DreamWorks SKG and Microsoft, from its inception in 1995 until its acquisition by EA in 2000. Following the acquisition, Glenn assumed roles of increasing responsibility at EA, including General Manager of the EALA studio, Executive Producer and Chief Visual Officer of EA Canada, and Senior Vice President and Chief Visual Officer and Technical Officer of the parent company. Prior to DreamWorks Interactive, Glenn co-founded Pacific Data Images ("PDI") where, as Chief Operating Officer from 1982 to 1994, he oversaw growth to over 120 employees in two locations. A leading graphics and special effects house, PDI was later acquired by DreamWorks Animation, the producer of such animated hits as Kung Fu Panda, Shrek, Antz, Shark Tale, and Madagascar. As a 30-plus year veteran of some of the top digital media companies in the world, Glenn brings a successful and well-seasoned ability for identifying, recruiting, and developing talent across all disciplines, but particularly in the technology and creative design, art, and graphics areas. Through his extensive contacts and active participation in the digital media and entertainment world, he will be a lightning rod for potential investments and will have early knowledge of potential opportunities through channels not available to typical venture funds. At EA, one of Glenn's roles was coaching individuals and teams to stronger creative and technical performance. He will apply these same skills across all of the Fund's portfolio companies. Glenn's deep experience in graphics and game-related technologies will also allow him to add value in due diligence, rounding out teams with the right talent, and acting as a sounding board for problems and new opportunities. Glenn graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honors) and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and took graduate computer graphics classes at the legendary New York Institute of Technology under Dr. Edwin Catmull. He is a recipient of an Academy Award for Technical Achievement from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. An active leader in the international computer graphics community, Glenn regularly gives keynotes and lectures at leading computer graphics conferences and companies. He was the featured keynote presenter at SIGGRAPH 2007 and, in the last two years, has been a keynote presenter at graphics conferences in France, Germany, Italy, London, Monte Carlo, San Diego, Montreal, and Vancouver. He has chaired the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences and is currently President of the Vancouver chapter of SIGGRAPH, a member of the Board of Governors of Emily Carr University, and on the Advisory Board for the Great Northern Way Masters of Digital Media Program.
