Biography

Mr. Vegard Nilsen serves as Chief Executive Officer at Securis Investment Partners. He joined Securis in July 2005, a few months prior to Securis launching their flagship fund. He joined as Chief Operating Officer and has since been responsible for all operational aspects of the business and building out the Securis infrastructure, which today comprises of approximately 50 staff, presence in multiple jurisdictions, and AUM in excess of $6bn. In April 2018, he was appointed as CEO and in this capacity, he has the day-to-day responsibility for all aspects of the firm's business in London and other offices. He has responsibility for determining the strategy, vision, direction, and culture of Securis. He is a Partner and member of the Management Committee. Mr. Nilsen joined Securis from Orn Capital LLP, a London-based multi-strategy alternative asset manager. Prior to that, he worked for nearly two years at a London-based start-up long/short equity manager, overseeing the company's formation, regulatory registration, and then through to trading. He is based in London and was appointed CEO in April 2018. In this capacity has the day-to-day responsibility for all aspects of the firm's worldwide business which comprises offices in the UK, the US, Bermuda, Switzerland, and Japan. He is a Partner and member of the Executive Committee and Operational Governance Committee in addition to chairing the LLP Risk Management Committee and is a member of both the Non-Life and Life Reserving Committees and the Non-Life Event Response Committee. He is a member of the Board of Directors, Remuneration Committee, and Group Supervisory Board. Mr. Nilsen also serves as a Director on a number of additional Securis-related entities. He joined Securis in from Orn Capital LLP, a London-based multi-strategy alternative asset manager. He moved to London in 1998 after graduating from the Norwegian School of Management. He spent the summer of 1997 working as an intern at Salomon Brothers and subsequently joined them full-time after graduating.
