Biography

Mr. Vivek Agrawal serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Growth Officer at Principal Financial Group.Mr. Agrawal joined Principal® in 2023. Before that, he spent 20+ years as a senior partner with McKinsey and Company. His work focused on performance transformations in financial institutions both in North America and in Asia, with expertise in Insurance. Agrawal has a master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a bachelor's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for American Public Media Group and Minnesota Public Radio. He has authored numerous articles on innovation and performance in financial services, the most recent being The Life Journey, a series of perspectives on what winners are doing to separate themselves in life insurance markets in the United States, Japan, Korea, China, India, and Southeast Asia. He has also served as a fellow of the McKinsey Global Institute where he co-authored studies on productivity growth in the U.S. economy and the impact of foreign direct investments.
