Biography

Mr. Adam Waglay is a Co-Founder and serves as Co-Chief Executive Officer of Butterfly Equity. Mr. Waglay has approximately 20 years of investing and operating experience with a primary focus on the food sector and is responsible for deal origination, transaction execution, portfolio management, and overall leadership of Butterfly. To date, Mr. Waglay has been involved in transactions totaling over $5 billion of invested capital(1). Mr. Waglay currently serves on the board of directors of Orgain, Bolthouse Farms, Pacifico Aquaculture, Modern Restaurant Concepts, The Kitchen, and the Butterfly Equity Foundation. Before founding Butterfly, Mr. Waglay was a senior member of KKR's Consumer Retail Private Equity team, where he worked from 2007 to 2016 with a primary focus on the food sector. While at KKR, Mr. Waglay was actively involved in several completed transactions including, among others, Dollar General, National Vision, Academy Sports + Outdoors, and Lemonade. Before joining KKR in 2007, Mr. Waglay worked at Goldman Sachs & Co. where he was part of the Consumer Retail Investment Banking team with a primary focus on the food sector and worked on several transactions including, among others, the sales of Bolthouse Farms to Madison Dearborn Partners, Naked Juice Company to PepsiCo and Smart & Final to Apollo Global Management. Mr. Waglay graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce. He also served as a Board Member at Modern Market.
