Biography

Ms. Irena Goldenberg serves as Partner at Highland Europe. She is an Investor and served as a Board Member at Smartly.io. She focuses on growth-stage investments primarily in consumer internet and application software. She serves as Board Member at Le Collectionist. She joined Highland Capital Partners as a Principal in 2007 and opened the Geneva office alongside Fergal. She is involved in investments in Outfittery, Privalia, Spartoo.com and wooga. Before joining Highland, she spent two years at Flybridge Capital Partners in Boston where she invested in and worked closely with several early-stage technology startups. At Flybridge, She was involved in such investments as Brontes Technologies (acquired by 3M), BzzAgent (acquired by Tesco) and Cartera Commerce. She has also worked at Index Ventures where she identified investment opportunities in Eastern Europe; as a strategy and private equity consultant at Bain & Company; and at Tata Interactive Systems developing e-learning applications in Mumbai, India. She grew up in Ukraine and speaks English, Russian, and French. She holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S., in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
