Biography

Mr. Boyu Hu is the Founder and serves as a Partner at XVC. He previously served as a Partner at Blue Lake Capital. He serves as Board Member at Golden Second & Weee!. After two unsuccessful Internet ventures in college, he co-founded China's largest lending software company, Amarsoft (SHE:300380), where he led the development of core product lines and helped the company to achieve dominance in a highly competitive market before it eventually went public. Prior to co-founding Blue Lake Capital, he worked at a leading VC firm, DCM, where he was instrumental in forging its investments into Wandoujia, AutoRadio, Youxinpai, 51Talk, etc. An entrepreneur himself, he loves entrepreneurs and finds it deeply gratifying to work with them as they define strategy, hire talents and raise money. With his help, these portfolio companies have raised over 100 million USD on average in follow-on rounds. He has also worked for Morgan Stanley Strategic Investments Asia (the firm's VC arm) and GSR Ventures, a leading VC in China. He got his MBA from the Kellogg School on the shore of beautiful Lake Michigan, but he spent most of his spare time either doing research in his room or auditing classes that he wasn't in.
