Biography

Ms. Sherry Barrat serves as a Board Member & Member of the Executive and Finance Committee at the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties. She also serves as Chairwoman of the Board at The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. She also serves as Board Member, Member of Nominating, Governance, Risk and Compliance Committee and Chair of the Compensation Committee at Arthur J. Gallagher & Company. Ms. Barrat retired in 2012 as Vice Chairman of Northern Trust Corporation, a global financial holding company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. She assumed the role of Vice Chairman in March 2011. From 2006 to 2011, Ms. Barrat served as Global President of Northern Trust's personal financial services business, which provides asset management, fiduciary, estate and financial planning, and private banking services to individuals and families around the world. During her 22-year career at Northern Trust, Ms. Barrat served in various other leadership roles and as a member of the Northern Trust Management Committee. Since 1998, Ms. Barrat served as Board Member at NextEra Energy. Ms. Barrat has also served as an independent trustee or director of certain Prudential Insurance mutual funds. Skills and Qualifications. Ms. Barrat's extensive management, operational and financial experience, in particular her deep understanding of the financial services industry and the privacy and cybersecurity issues facing that industry, greatly enhances the Board's decision-making. She currently serves as board chair for the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts and was a previous board member of the Palm Beach chapter of the International Women's Forum. Ms. Barrat graduated from Barry University, summa cum laude, and is also a graduate of the CEO Perspectives Program at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Business.
