Biography
Dr. Rolf Zinkernagel is a Co-Founder of Hookipa Biotech. Mr. Zinkernagel also served as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board at Aravis. He is Professor and former Head of the Institute of Experimental Immunology, Department of Pathology at the University of Zurich. He specializes in infectious diseases and immunopathology and is a pioneer in immunological research on cell-mediated and antibody responses against viruses. Professor Zinkernagel was elected to the Board of Directors of Novartis in 1999. Until 2003 he was a member of the Board of Directors of Cytos Biotechnology. He is member of scientific advisory boards and science consultant to various life science companies. Among many other honors and awards for his contributions to science Rolf M. Zinkernagel received the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1996.
