Biography

Dr. Foo served as a Venture Partner at Aravis. He is the founder and Managing Director of Luminor Capital, a private equity advisory firm based in Singapore. He was also one of the founder members of BioSingapore, the country's industry association for the bioscience industry, and served as its Honorary Treasurer from its inception in 2004 until 2006. Hitherto, he had a 16-year career in Investment Banking spanning Europe and Asia. He started as an equity analyst specializing in the European Pharmaceutical & Biotech sector in London, working with Robert Fleming & Co, Barings Securities and Paribas Capital Markets. He was a rated sector analyst in the Institutional Investor and Extel European polls. He returned to Asia in 1994 and has lived and worked both in Hong Kong and Singapore with Deutsche Morgan Grenfell (now Deutsche Securities) and SG Securities Asia (SocGen). He was latterly Head of Asian Equities and Co-Head of the Investment Bank for SG Securities Asia covering 10 Asian countries. Dr. Foo is qualified in Medicine (M.B., B.Ch., B.A.O.) and Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Queen's University, United Kingdom, with further continuing education qualifications from Insead on Economic Value Added (EVA) and International Project Management.
