Biography

Ms. Melissa Cheong serves as Managing Partner at Blackhorn Ventures. She serves as a Board Member at Briq & Optera. She served as a Board Member at Agorus and Locomotion. She serves as a member of the Investment Committee, and she is a private equity partner at Blue Earth Capital. She served as an Advisor at Electriphi. She served as Chief Investment Officer at Zoma Capital. She serves as Chief Investment Officer at Treehouse Investments. She serves as a Board Member at Locomotion. Most recently, she was the Chief Investment Officer at ZOMA Capital, the private family office of Ben and Lucy Ana Walton, where she oversaw the management of the family's various investment activities, employing a fully values-aligned investment strategy. She serves on the Finance & Investment Committee at the Innovators Society. She also serves as a Trustee and Investment Committee Member at Bonfils Stanton Foundation and Colorado Gives Foundation. She has also worked in various finance and investment roles with organizations such as Treehouse Investments, Imprint Capital, Plainfield Asset Management, Metzler Bank, and Deutsche Bank. As a Managing Director at Imprint Capital, she was a member of the management team and was responsible for overseeing and managing the firm's direct investment and private credit platforms. In this role, she worked with a broad range of family offices, foundations, and financial institutions to build customized mission-aligned social impact investment portfolios. Currently, she also serves as a member of the Investment Committee for Partners Group Impact Investments. She has served as a director on the boards of Shasta Renewable Resources Group, RPM Events, and Techtonic Group. She also serves on the board of Agora Partnerships, a non-profit organization that works with entrepreneurs to build businesses focused on solving deep social and environmental challenges in emerging markets. She has been featured by Trusted Insight in 2017 and 2018 as one of the "Top 30 Family Office Chief Investment Officers" and is a frequent speaker and presenter at events and conferences on social and environmental impact investing issues, as well as on topics related to various family office structures and corresponding approaches to investing. She holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Chicago, where was a recipient of the Richter Grant. She received an MBA from Columbia Business School, with a concentration in Finance and International Development.
