Biography

Mr. Jeff Tomb served as Director, Safety at SMS Assist. Jeff has extensive experience in the safety and emergency services fields. Jeff has years of experience as a safety person in the commercial and industrial worlds with positions ranging from safety auditor to Director of Safety. Jeff has also served in both the police and fire departments. As a Division Chief, Jeff oversaw the administrative functions of fire prevention, fire investigation and training for a 180-man department. He was instrumental in the development of a Special Response Team, which responded to hazardous materials and special rescue emergencies. Jeff's passion for instructing led him to become a state certified instructor for the Indiana Department of Homeland Security and the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. Jeff's proficiency in safety and the construction and general industry led him to become an OSHA authorized instructor, a certified instructor through the Scaffold Training Institute, and a certified instructor for the American Heart Association. Jeff has instructed to thousands of participants throughout his career as an instructor. In 2011 Jeff helped start Niles Safety Services and assisted in the design and development of Niles Safety's Mobile Interactive Training Simulator. In 2013 Jeff was instrumental in forming a partnership with Mid-America OSHA, and OSHA OTI, to allow Niles Safety to offer OTI caliber safety training. Niles Safety has provided services to companies involved in the chemical, refinery, manufacturing, steel, medical, construction industries as well as public safety entities from Texas to Michigan.
