Biography

Mr. Donald Gottwald is the Founder of Speedring Capital. Mr. Gottwald is a Co-Owner of Indy Sports and Entertainment. He serves as President, of Digital, Data, and Mobility Solutions and Chief Strategy Officer at KAR Global. As President of Digital, Data & Mobility Solutions and Chief Strategy Officer, Don Gottwald is responsible for KAR's growing portfolio of digital, data, and mobility assets-overseeing KAR businesses including OPENLANE, CarsArrive, RDN, Clearplan, DRIVIN, autonomic, and STRATIM. He also oversees KAR's data as a service function, leveraging the company's broad data set to develop predictive analytics and artificial intelligence solutions that power efficiency and informed decision-making for both the company and its customers. As chief strategy officer, Gottwald leads enterprise strategy, analyzing the latest industry, economic, and market trends to promote the long-term strategic alignment and integration of the company's more than 20 brands. Previously, Gottwald served as chief executive officer of AFC. In this role, Gottwald was responsible for the strategic leadership of the company's objectives and growth. Gottwald joined AFC in January 2009. Gottwald has more than 25 years of experience in the automotive industry. His background ranges from senior management roles at multi-billion dollar companies such as GMAC Financial Services and HSBC Auto Finance to working on the retail side at a local dealership. Gottwald holds an MBA from Duke University and a bachelor's degree from Northwood University. He was previously active in the American Financial Services Association, where he was chair of the Vehicle Finance Division and served on the association's board of directors. He also sits on the Automotive Marketing Curriculum Advisory Board at Northwood University. Gottwald also supports community and mission-driven organizations by serving on the boards of the Indiana chapter of JDRF and the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana.
