Biography

Dr. Mark Zhu serves as Managing Partner at Venture Capital Partners. Dr. Zhu also served as Director of Investment and Managing Director of Newton Fund at Propel(x). He serves as an Advisor at Lunewave. He serves as an Venture Partner at Yu Galaxy. He served as Director at Gibraltar Ventures. He served as a Senior Associate at Connecticut Innovations. He joined CI in July 2014 as an Investment Associate and is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, structuring new investments, and monitoring portfolio companies. Prior to joining CI, he was an investment manager at DTE Energy Ventures in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he was involved in deal origination, deal screening, due diligence, and portfolio company management. While at DTE Energy, he invested in several advanced material and energy technology startups including two IPOs. Prior to joining DTE Energy, he worked as lead systems engineer at UTC Power where he led systems engineering teams in fuel cell and geothermal power plant development and built advanced modeling tools. Prior to that, he was an advanced process control engineer for Praxair where he developed advanced control and real-time optimization systems for air separation plants and industrial gas pipelines. He is also an Angel Investor.
