Biography

Mr. Keith Yamashita is the Founder at SYPartners. He has worked with leaders at Apple, eBay, IBM, General Electric, Johnson & Johnson, Facebook, Nike, and Target Corporation, among others. SYPartners has been recognized by The Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, and Fortune for its unique, human-centered approach, applied to both business and social challenges. To scale the transformative effect of the company's consulting work, Keith and SYPartners CEO Susan Schuman launched a products division that draws on the knowledge developed through work with clients. Its first release is Unstuck-a Webby winner and Appy winner. Released in 2014, Teamworks is a web platform and toolset to help teams get more engaged and aligned to produce better outcomes in their day-to-day work. More tools are forthcoming. In 2014, SYPartners joined Tokyo-based Hakuhodo DY Holdings and is now helping to establish kyu-a a new unit that serves as a home for a small, distinguished portfolio of the world's most entrepreneurial and generative agencies, design firms, and consultancies. From 2009 to 2011, Keith served as The Charles and Ray Eames Brand Fellow at IBM, working to build a culture of design across the organization. He is also an author and essayist on leadership and design, having published in the Harvard Business Review and several journals. He has lectured at the Yale School of Management, Stanford Business School, and the Jack F. Welch Leadership Center. Keith was an on-air commentator with Maria Bartiromo on the Business of Innovation. Keith holds an MA in organizational behavior and a BA in quantitative economics from Stanford University.
