Biography

Mr. Joachim de Sterke is a Co-Founder and serves as a Partner at PhotonVentures. He serves as a Managing Partner at Creative Capital Studio. He also serves as a Supervisory Board Member at Surfix. He served as a Board Member at PhotonDelta. He served as Chief Financial Officer at Universit. He is an experienced executive with extensive experience across various disciplines and industries and has a proven track record of developing and growing a company from a start-up to a mid-size international company. Extensive finance, M&A, operations, analytics, and business development experience in Deep Tech, SaaS, and IaaS-based environments driven by both direct- and indirect- sales. After he sequentially founded two venture-backed international SaaS companies with US exits, he joined PhotonDelta in 2019 as a founding partner. PhotonDelta is an industry development organization and strategic VC, that will ensure a global pole position in the Dutch integrated photonics industry. PhotonDelta is recognized as one of Europe's leading innovation hubs, amplifying existing initiatives and kick-starting new ones. Leveraging a €250+ million fund, it supports innovations and investments in companies active in photonics-integrated products. In parallel, he is the founder and General Partner of Creative Capital Studio, a purpose-driving scale-up VC with a unique market approach by providing a combination of creative capital and venture capital. Within PhotonDelta and Creative, Capital Studio holds multiple expert panel, board, and advisory positions. He holds an MS (Master of Science) in Finance & Accounting and a Bachelor's in Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, and a Degree from The Hague University of Applied Sciences.
