Biography

Mr. Alan Fowler served a Principal at Environ. He has over 25 years of engineering and consulting experience focused on the assessment and management of sediment. Alan has served in strategic, managerial and technical roles on high profile sediment sites. His project experience spans remedial investigations, feasibility studies, natural resource damage assessment and restoration, remedial designs and the oversight of remedial construction activities, including large-scale dredging and capping efforts. Alan is a national expert in the field of contaminated sediment management, and has been responsible for developing the technical and regulatory strategies for many high-liability sediment sites. His specific areas of technical expertise include dredging, capping and sediment treatment technologies for sediment containing polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and polychlorinated biphenyls, as well as the development of costs estimates for sediment remedy implementation. Alan's site-specific experience in the US includes work related to the Ashtabula River, Boston Harbor, Coosa River, Ohio River, Columbia River, Lake Okeechobee, New Bedford Harbor, Portland Harbor, San Francisco Bay and San Diego Harbor. His sediment experience in Canada includes projects for the Howe Sound and Fraser River located in British Columbia and Beaverdams Creek/Channel located in Thorold, Ontario.
