Nicolas Gravel General Information

Biography

Mr. Nicolas Gravel serves as a Partner at BDC Capital. He also serves as a Partner at the Business Development Bank of Canada. He joined BDC Capital in 2013 as Director, of Strategic Investments and Partnerships. Before joining BDC, he was a senior advisor for Gaz Métro, working in the Finance and Special Projects team, which included mergers and acquisitions, as well as project development and financing for greenfield infrastructures in renewable energy. A chemical engineer by trade, He has more than 17 years of experience in various industrial sectors and finance, including business development and venture capital. He was an Equity Research Associate for Merrill Lynch before spending four years as a Venture Capital Investment Manager at Innovatech Montréal. For several years, he was also part of the management team of an oil and gas start-up company where he handled strategic partnerships, including licensing agreements. He holds an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Université Laval in Québec City, an MBA from HEC Montréal, the Université de Montréal business school, and is a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
