Biography

Mr. Karthik Achar serves as a Partner and Member of the Investment Team at Stellex Capital Management. He served as Board Member at Dominion Hospitality. He serves as a Board Member at Mecaer Aviation Group. He also served as a Board Member at Officine Maccaferri. He has over 10 years of experience in the sourcing, trading, execution, and oversight of stressed credit, distressed direct lending, distressed non-control, and distressed for-control investments within Europe. Most recently, he was Head of the European Investment Team for Wayzata Investment Partners in London where he led and executed numerous investments in European middle-market distressed and stressed companies. Before joining Wayzata in 2008, he was an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley where he created and headed a team focused on direct lending to distressed, stressed, and middle-market companies via senior secured bridge loans, mezzanine, and payment-in-kind preferred debt. Before joining Morgan Stanley, he was a senior analyst and credit fund manager with distressed and high-yield credit funds in London and Paris. He earned a B.A. cum laude in economics from Middlebury College and holds an M.B.A. in finance and international business from Columbia Business School.
