Biography

Ms. Judy Johnson served as Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Caruso. She oversaw all areas of the company's branding, marketing, public relations, strategic alliances and entertainment initiatives. In this role, she was responsible for helping achieve the company's long-range business goals by creating favorable guest experiences with every communications touchpoint for the Caruso Affiliated brand and its individual property brands. She also plays a key role in developing the brand identity, marketing materials and multi-channel communications for Caruso Affiliated properties in the pipeline. With more than 30 years of experience in public relations and marketing, she is experienced in building memorable and impactful campaigns to inspire and motivate consumers to engage with brands that matter to them; architect and oversee executive and corporate communications programs; prepare for and manage issues; identify and target customer segments; introduce consumers and other stakeholders to new offerings; and ensure optimal guest experiences online through the website, social and mobile applications designed for customer information sharing and engagement. Prior to joining Caruso Affiliated, she spent three decades working for three international public relations and marketing firms: GolinHarris; Fleishman Hillard; and Manning, Selvage & Lee. She was most recently at GolinHarris, where she worked for 17 years and was president of the firm's offices west of Chicago and led the company's second-largest P&L for the last 12 years. She also served on the firm's global executive management committee and was responsible for a number of global initiatives. She earned her degree magna cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Communications. She was awarded Professional of the Year last year by the Public Relations Society of America's Los Angeles chapter and Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women in 2010. She built a Best Place to the Work culture at GolinHarris, where the firm ranked as one of the top-10 Los Angeles Business Journal Best Places to Work in LA in the large company category during her leadership tenure.
