Biography

Mr. Haag Sherman serves as Managing Director and Vice President at Sanders Morris Harris. He serves as a Board Member at Hilltop Holdings. He serves as Director at CBIZ. He is also a Co-Founder & serves as Chief Executive Officer & Board Member at T Bancshares. He also served as an Independent Director Member of the Audit, Compensation Nominating, and Corporate Governance Committees at ZaZa Energy. As Co-Founder, Vice Chairman, and Partner of Salient Partners, L.P., he has been responsible for developing most of Salient's investment programs, including approximately $2 billion invested in the energy complex. Under his leadership, Salient grew from $200 million in client assets in 2002 to more than $16 billion in 2012, successfully launched an E&P fund, and started the first hedged and tax-advantaged closed-end funds of MLPs (NYSE listed), for which he developed key relationships with many of the smaller investment banks covering MLPs. He has served Salient in numerous capacities, including tenures as both Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer. He holds a BBA in accounting and economics (cum laude) from Baylor University and a JD (with honors) from the University of Texas School of Law, where he has also served as an adjunct Professor of Law.
