Biography

Mr. Michael Prahl is the Co-Founder & serves as a Partner at New Industrial Partners. Mr. Prahl serves as a Senior Investment Professional at Ace Equity Partners. He serves as an Adjunct Professor & Lecturer at INSEAD. He served as a Board Member at Inspekto. He served as Chairman at Precisely Microtechnology. He joined Claudia at GPEI in 2010 to support the development of the initiative with a focus on strengthening research activities and interaction with the private equity community. He oversees all research of the initiative and was instrumental in creating all its recent publications, database projects, and outreach activities. His specific research interests are in the areas of risk and return in emerging markets, operational value creation, and market entry strategies & portfolio allocation for limited partners. An INSEAD alumnus, he spent nine years with Apax Partners, a global private equity firm. He worked on some of the most high-profile retail and consumer investments for Apax in Europe and the US including regular buyouts, public to privates, PIPEs, minority investments, and privatizations. He holds an MBA from Stanford University and an MSc in Computer Science from TUM, Germany.
