Biography

Mr. Malone Mitchell is the Founder & a Co-Owner & serves as Partner and Managing Member of Riata Corporate Group. He serves as the Chairman of the Board & Chief Executive Officer at TransAtlantic Petroleum. He has served as TransAtlantic Petroleum's Chief Executive Officer since May 2011, as a Director since April 2008, and as TransAtlantic Petroleum Chairman since May 2008. Since 2005, Mr. Mitchell has served as the President of Riata Corporate Group, LLC and Longfellow Energy, LLC, a Dallas-based private oil and natural gas exploration and production company. From June to December 2006, Mr. Mitchell served as President and Chief Operating Officer of SandRidge Energy, Inc. (formerly Riata Energy, Inc.), an independent oil and natural gas company concentrating in exploration, development, and production activities. Until he sold his controlling interest in Riata Energy, Inc. in June 2006, Mr. Mitchell also served as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of Riata Energy, Inc., which Mr. Mitchell founded in 1985 and built into one of the largest privately-held energy companies in the United States. Mr. Mitchell earned a B.S. from Oklahoma State University. Through his senior executive officer positions at Riata Corporate Group, LLC and Riata Energy, Inc., Mr. Mitchell brings extensive executive leadership experience, organizational experience, and over 29 years of experience in the oil and natural gas industry to the board of directors. Mr. Mitchell is familiar with TransAtlantic Petroleum's day-to-day operations and performance and the oil and natural gas industry in general. Mr. Mitchell's insight into the TransAtlantic Petroleum's operations and performance is critical to board discussions.
