Biography

Mr. Adam Purwin serves as Managing Partner at Nunatak Capital. Mr. Purwin served as Management Board Member at Luma Investment. He served as President at PKP Cargotabor. Adam Purwin is an experienced manager and finances professional with extensive investment and transactional practice. Within almost 15 years of experience partnering with some of the most prominent financial institutions in Poland, including mBank, Bank PEKAO, PKO BP, and BGK he conducted numerous corporate finance transactions, LBOs, MBOs, projects finance, and structured finance. Adam also realized several capital transactions, involving both private and public entities, including direct investments (such as the acquisition of PKO TFI by PKO BP, acquisition of AWT B.V. by PKP Cargo, Luma Ventures investments in five startup companies), investments via investment funds (PKO BP investment in Margueritte Fund) and exits (IPO and ABB of PKP Cargo, sale of PKP Energetyka, Polskie Koleje Linowe and TK Telekom) with a total value exceeding EUR 1B. He is an experienced manager who held several C-suite (CEO at PKP Cargo, CFO at Luma Investment) and supervisory positions (Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Supervisory Boards and Audit Committees in both public and private entities). His management skills have been well recognized - Adam received an award for "Best IPO on the Warsaw Stock Exchange 2013/2014" granted by the Warsaw Capital Market Summit 2014 co-organized by the Ministry of Treasury and the Warsaw Stock Exchange, "Byki I Niedźwiedzie" in the category: "Debut Roku 2013" granted by "Parkiet" magazine and the title of "Top Menadżera 2015 Roku" granted by "Bloomberg Businessweek Polska" magazine. Adam has been actively present in the PE/VC market for almost a decade now, starting from 2010/2011 when he held the position of Vice-Chairman of Investment Committee of National Capital Fund which financed some of the top Polish venture capital funds. Recently, he is a mentor in Startup Hub Poland's mentoring program. Adam holds a master's degree in law from the University of Białystok.
