Biography

Mr. Lawrence Greenberg serves as Chief Legal Officer & Senior Vice President at The Motley Fool. He serves as Venture Partner at Motley Fool Ventures. He also serves as Board Member at Hungry (Commercial Services) and Bay Area SM&T. Previously, he practiced securities and intellectual property law at the Palo Alto firm of Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati. He clerked for Judge Jerry E. Smith of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in Houston and has served as an attorney at the National Security Agency and as a graduate fellow analyst for counterterrorism at the Central Intelligence Agency. He attended Harvard College and Stanford Law School and received a master's in political science from Stanford University. The author (with Seymour Goodman and Kevin Soo Hoo) of Information Warfare and International Law (National Defense University Press, 1998), he has served as a non-resident fellow of the Stanford Center for Internet & Society and a member of the 2000 Defense Science Board Defensive Information Operations Task Force Legal Panel. He is currently an adjunct professor at the George Mason University School of Law, where he teaches a seminar on Internet privacy, and the American University Washington College of Law, where he lectures on business associations.
