Biography

Mr. Charles-Henry Tranie served as the Managing Partner at Daphni. He also served as a Partner at Jaina Capital. He has nearly twenty years of experience as an entrepreneur and investor in new technology in France and Silicon Valley. He began his career in the National Assembly as a legislative aide where he participated in the work on telecommunications deregulation and new technologies. In 1997, he co-founded a web agency specializing in sites e-commerce. After working as a lawyer in mergers and acquisitions at Linklaters, he was recruited in 1999 by venture capital funds Viventures, backed by the Vivendi Universal group. He joined 2001 the San Francisco office where he participated in investments in the Internet, video games, and semiconductors. In 2005, he returned to France and participated in the launch, as Director of Development and Operators Relations, 118 218, which became the market leader in directory inquiries. In March 2010, he joined Marc Simoncini and became the managing partner of Jaina Capital. He graduated from EDHEC, with the Graduate Diploma in Business Law V Paris and an Executive MBA from INSEAD.
