Biography

Ms. Peggy Scott serves as Chairman & Member of Audit Committee and Governance & Public Affairs Committee at Cleco Corporate Holdings. She recently retired as the Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, the state's largest health insurer. She also served as Chief Strategy Officer, shaping strategic direction. Ms. Scott was President of the Blue Cross Foundation and a board member, serving four years as board chair. She had a distinguished early career with Deloitte. Recognized early, she was named one of the Ten Outstanding Young Women in America in a competition of over 100,000. She entered the healthcare industry, joining General Health System as CFO and head of Corporate Services. She was featured in the Wall Street Journal and Strategic Finance as the National Financial Executive of the Year. She was inducted into the AICPA's Business and Industry Hall of Fame, the world's largest accounting association. Business Insurance magazine selected her as one of the nation's Women to Watch. She holds a Ronald Reagan presidential citation. Scott is in the LSU Alumni Hall of Distinction, LSU's highest honor, and the College of Business' Hall of Distinction. Ms. Scott was selected as Tulane's Outstanding Accounting Alumnus and Parker Pen USA LTD's Woman of Achievement. She is director certified by the American College of Corporate Directors and the NACD and a Consultant and Advisor with Francisco Partners and serves on the Advisory Board of Health Catalyst Capital. She is also an Editorial Advisor for the Journal of Accountancy. Having served as President, Ms. Scott is on the LSU College of Business Dean's Advisory Council. She continues board service with the Blue Cross Foundation, the Burden Horticultural Society and the Baton Rouge Botanic Gardens. Her prior board service includes International Plan Solutions, LLC operating in 190 countries; TriServ Alliance, LLC; Partners National Health Plans; Louisiana Superdome; Gulf South Health Plans and corporations in Latin America. Her community and professional board service is extensive. Scott is a CPA, a Chartered Global Accountant and certified in Valuations and Forensics. Ms. Scott holds an Executive MBA from Tulane, a B.S. in accounting from LSU magna cum laude and was an Adjunct Professor at Tulane's Medical School.
